The World Conference on Tobacco or Health is being held in a developing country after 12 years and it was great that the world's largest tobacco control event came to the world's largest democratic country like India which is one of the incredible nation working for the widest spectrum of tobacco control issues.

Voluntary Health Association of India organized media seminars in three bidi rolling states of India namely West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh. The seminars were of a unique nature because the media persons had an opportunity visit the field areas in the bidi rolling pockets of the country.

These seminars gave an opportunity and exposure to the  journalists helping them get sensitized on an issue which is so important vis a vis public health of their respective states yet completely neglected by the policy makers and the media.
