VHAI Releases Research Study On Tobacco And Poverty In India
 
Voluntary Health Association of India (VHAI) released the primary research study titled: At the Crossroads of Life and Livelihood: The Economics, Poverty and Working Conditions of People Employed in the Tobacco Industry in India.

The study was conducted in the four states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. This Study brings forth three different facets of tobacco and poverty through employment in the tobacco sector - tobacco farming, bidi rolling and tendu leaf plucking.
