"Kottayam is prepared for the First Tobacco Free City in India"
The first literate town of India – Kottayam is going ahead for yet another crown in her head i.e. “First tobacco free town in India”. With the support of Kerala Voluntary Health services, district Medical Office prepared and action plan to make the city Tobacco free and submitted it to district administration. National Service Scheme Volunteers of M.G.University will be the major force of volunteers in the programme. A capacity building of the volunteers was conducted yesterday at Rotary Hall, Kottayam. NSS Programme coordinator, Mass media officer, KVHS Executive Officer, took classes on different strategies. The programme was conducted by the support of VHAI under its collaboration with Bloomberg Global Initiatives.”
