A Round Table Meeting was organized by Uttar Pradesh Voluntary Health Association, Lucknow in collaboration with Youth Round Table, Faizabad with the support of Voluntary Health Association of India, New Delhi on the issue of "Child Labour and Child Rights concerns in the Bidi industry" on 25th February at Comfort Inn, Lucknow.

Mr. R. B. Lal, Deputy Labour Commissioner, Lucknow was the Chief Guest of the programme. He emphasized on eradication of Poverty as the main reason of increasing number of Child Labour in India and proper access to available schemes by the marginalized community.

The key resource person present at the event were the Nodal officers from the State, District Tobacco Control Cell, General Manager of NRHM, representatives from 20 NGOs, Government officials, Media etc. A total of 39 participants attended the meeting.

Ms. Seema Gupta, Senior Manager from VHAI attended the workshop as one of the key resource person.

The meeting was also attended by Ms. Samriddhi Sinha, Legal Officer, Lawyers Collective, New Delhi and Mr. J.P.Sharma, Executive Director, UPVHA.
