Opinion Poll - 99% INDIANS SUPPORT PICTORIAL WARNINGS ON TOBACCO PACKAGES

The Voluntary Health Association of India (VHAI) and the Healis Sekhsaria Institute for Public Health, Mumbai had commissioned an opinion poll in New Delhi , Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai on pictorial health warnings on tobacco packages.

One of the main findings of the poll was that over 99% of the people support large pictorial health warnings on tobacco packages. 73% of the people surveyed wanted immediate implementation of health warnings on tobacco products.

You are also aware of the delay in the implementation of pictorial warnings on tobacco products including bidis. We urge you to kindly look into this serious issue which affects the health and lives of millions of Indians.The survey was conducted by Synovate's Global Omnibus.
